There are several organizations that distribute free diapers to low-income families. Many of them are charities or churches, and some government programs or companies also help. Listed below are free diaper banks near you, as well as distribution centers for single mothers, teen mothers, and families living in poverty. Many places also offer other baby items.
Who Can Receive Diapers
Anyone who needs diapers for their child is eligible to receive diapers from St. Luke’s Diaper Bank. We do not have any eligibility criteria and there is no application process. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, class, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, country of origin or ability.
We partner with organizations that do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, class, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, country of origin or ability. We only partner with organizations that are committed to removing barriers to access to diapers and will not use diapers as an incentive or require recipients to participate in services before receiving them.
How to Get Free Diapers
Our diapers and wipes are distributed to community members at Douglass Community Association, Mothers of Hope, Kalamazoo Eastside Neighborhood Association, Urban Alliance, Comstock Community Center, and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. You do not need to bring anything to receive diapers.
We do not have any eligibility criteria and there is no application process. You will be asked to complete a brief anonymous demographic survey. The information you provide is used to request funds to pay our staff and purchase diapers. The survey is optional but we appreciate your opinion.
Types of Support Offered:
Diaper banks:
Some churches operate diaper banks, where they collect and distribute diapers to families in need. These banks can collaborate with local businesses, community members, and other organizations to ensure a steady supply of diapers.
Baby supplies campaigns:
Churches often host baby supply drives, encouraging their parishioners and community members to donate diapers, wipes, formula, baby clothes, and other essential items. These campaigns ensure that a wide range of baby essentials are available for distribution.
Parenting classes and support groups:
In addition to providing tangible items, churches can offer parenting classes and support groups to empower parents with knowledge and skills. These sessions cover topics such as budgeting, nutrition and child development, fostering a sense of community and support.
Collaboration with Local Organizations:
Churches frequently collaborate with local nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and businesses to amplify the impact of their initiatives. These partnerships help streamline the distribution process and expand the reach of assistance programs.
